as far as i can tell there are two differences:
pearl blocks instead of black blocks
tinted finish on neck and body

What is the difference with a RI75 american vintage?
A few years ago the RI75 was replaced with the American Vintage Series '74. The '74 has a 4 bolt neck and other Pickups. Through the years the '75 was available in different colours and with pear blocks or black blocks. The '75s I have seen were beautifull made instruments.
I'd say what is special about the FSR '75 is:
1. That it is available at all in a limited edition
2. That it is "aged natural". The natural non-FSR '75s weren't.
3. Not sure about this one, but some providers say they have the newer "pure vintage" pickups, some providers say they have the older '75 pickups.

Maybe Fender just still had 3-bolt necks or neck-plates lying around and thought about what to do with them...
Productionwise it is easier for them to put four-bolt necks on all of their instruments.

Hallo Max,
