Moin zusammen,
The Fender Web site does not specify very much about the new three-coil pickup, but it appears to be a high-impedance passive design. If there are no batteries in this bass, this would indicate that any Hi-Z passive tone control, such as a standard tone pot or a ToneStyler, will work perfectly.
If you are able to confirm that this new pickup is passive and high-impedance, please as your dealer, and let me know the answer?
If there is no electrical incompatibility due to on-board active electronics or teh pickup being low-impedance, the only issue is space, and installation efforts.
Typically, instrument bodies are routed in one continuous channel which is wide enough to accommodate all pots and wiring. This channel width is typically ~1.25" / 31mm. You will be able to verify this width only by removal of the pickguard.
I'm going to assume that the four- knob DELUXE body is routed the same as the two-knob modern player body:
(hier waren Bilder von "normalen" und dem "Deluxe" Version)
Based upon the above photos, there is plenty of room for a full-sized pot to be easily located ABOVE the volume pot of this two-knob instrument.
I will suggest that the most practical knob sequence will be gained by drilling the new 3/8" above the volume pot, then moving both the volume pot and the 5-way rotary selector switch to the uppermost two knob positions. Then, install the new ToneStyler BASS control in the lowest 3rd position, formerly-occupied by the switch.
Because the Modern Player is a master volume instrument, you may choose any ToneStyler BASS model; simply connect the ToneStyler's input cable to the output of the 5-way selector switch, where it is connected to the master volume pot input lug.
Please write again or call if you have additional questions? Thanks again for your interest!
Best regards,
Don Campbell

Sooo - jetzt zu meinen Fragen:
1. Was haltet Ihr überhaupt von meiner Schnapps Idee? ^^
2. Meint ihr der Pickup ist kompatibel?
3. Meint Ihr der Platz im Bass reicht?
