HYPER POZZUM is a Return Trip to the classic hyper fuzz circuit that has been celebrated for its thunderous scooped *BRRRRR* for decades now.
While at the very fuzzy core this landfill beast stays relatively unchanged from the original Univox masterpiece, the tone section is a total unforeseen overhaul.
The V2 revision of 2023 adds the much called for Blend control and further enhances the tonestack tweakability with Shift control that replaces the Voice switch!
CONTROLS
Volume control does its usual chore. It works in logarithmic fashion, as always should be the case.
Fuzz control makes the signal more or less square wave as desired. Its range has been worked so that it gives a precise and smooth transition from subtle'ish to chaotic fuzz.
Scoop control determines the strength of the passive notch filter before the signal heads into the active tone part of the circuit (Sweep).
It can be rolled back to include more mid frequencies making the sound more full bodied just as much as you like.
Shift controls the center of the Scoop passive notch filter.
When Shift is dimed, you have the classic mode and when turning the knob counter-clockwise you shift the scoop frequency towards low mids, introducing more upper mids and highs into the tone.
Shift control is interactive with Scoop control and it has a mitigating effect when the Scoop control is dialed to the counter-clockwise.
Sweep control is an active tone control that ranges from extreme mid boost to extreme low+high boost.
When used in combination with Scoop and Shift controls there are surprising tones to be unearthed.
Blend control allows you to blend your unaffected input signal with the fuzzed signal. However, some players don't want the clean signal to be unaffected...
Inside the enclosure there are two trimmer potentiometers labeled CLEAN BOOST and CLEAN LPF that are additional parameters for the Blend control.
Boost makes it possible to drive your input signal to give it a simple volume boost, or even overdrive it hard to make it dirty if you feel like the clean blended tone is too clean to match the fuzz.
LPF is a low pass filter that can get rid of the highs on your clean blended signal. It's especially useful for bass players who might only want the lows of the clean tone to be included.
TECHNICAL STUFF
- Dimensions: 94mm x 120mm x 50mm. - All top jacks.
- All analog and true bypass.
- 2.1mm 9V DC negative center power connection. Overvoltage will kill the unit.
- Current draw 30mA.
- Input and output impedances meet the modern standards.
- Built with authentic high quality components by reputable brands.
