I am selling a fantastic Tokai.
To start with - a sound sample:

The offered bass is the AJB45 model, i.e. a jazz bass intended for the American market with a very rock-like, 60s pickup spacing - those shipped in Japan had the TJB marking and a more classic head shape. I managed to dig out the original catalog - alder body, rosewood/maple neck, vol/vol/tone. The gold jazzbass standard
The guitar has no serial number. In the years 1992-2009, the Tokai Gakki factory could not stamp them on due to the contract with Fender, which commissioned them to produce its basses - the Americans wanted to limit the cannibalization of the market. The only marking is Made in Japan at the bottom of the neck. The previous owner told me that he had bought the bass new in 2006 in Denmark, but it is not known when exactly it was manufactured. So I would assume it is about 20 years old.
Despite its age, the bass is in very good condition - the body has only superficial scratches and dents and two slightly larger dongs (no paint chips), the heavy keys keep the tune in place for weeks, and all the hardware has only a slight patina. The frets still have plenty of life left, the truss rod turns without problems and the action is set very low (1.4mm - 1.8mm at the 12th fret). Thanks to the thin neck, it is very comfortable to play. An additional flavor is the beautiful contrast between dark rosewood and light maple with strong, picturesque curls.
He also recently had his fingerboard cleaned and the fret ends corrected by a luthier.
As for the sound, we have a typical jazz-bass spring here. The original pickups are very "hot", aggressive, but also well silenced, there is no noise. The body resonates pleasantly, has good sustain, and the strings clearly respond to changes in articulation. Weight is less than 4.4 kg.You can get the bass from Poznań, Poland but there will be no problem with shipping at the buyer's expense (usually 30-50 euro in the EU). Any questions - shoot!
