Music Man Stingray ’87
Rare EB Stingray from the early years. It’s one of the first that came with the 3eq preamp, and it has a rare factory original Inca Silver finish (which has aged to more of a greenish silver). This finish wasn’t officially available back then, so it might be a one off that has been made at special request.
The bass sounds great with good dynamics, like you want from a good Stingray.
All hardware and electronics work like they should. The neck is straight and well adjustable. The frets show little wear.
The bass has small damages and usermarks. There is a bigger bump at the upper horn on the back. The body shows fine finish checking all over (which you only see in certain light). The pickguard has small cracks around the screw holes.
Weight comes in a 4,85kg on my kitchen scales.
I’ve put new strings on this bass a few weeks ago; Sadowsky blue label 40-100. They are nice
.
As much as I like this Stingray, I have to let it go. An old injury returned, which means heavier basses aren’t comfortable for me to play standing for a longer while. So I’ll be looking for a lighter alternative.
Price €2.550
I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense.
Ps: I've got pictures of the neck pocket and other date stamps on request.
