For sale is the top model from the iconic Ibanez series - Roadgear 905FM. The bass, produced in South Korea, was released only in 2005 - unfortunately, due to the high price and the shape of the headstock, it did not conquer the market. Personally, I think it looks great, but I guess Ibanez missed the trends of the time. But today it is a real gem.
It is immediately obvious that it was a top model. Mahogany body with a 1.5 cm (!) flamed maple top, elegant binding around rosewood, heavy brass bridge, good tuners and pickups worth several hundred dollars - Ibanez/Seymour Duncan Basslines USA single and humbuckers. The bass is also equipped with an active system (2-band EQ) with a passive mode (true bypass), as well as the ability to disconnect the coils in the larger pickup. All together it gives a very universal sound with a strong signal. We can get close to both Jazz Bass and Music Man. In the active mode, the modern rock character of the Seymours shines through very clearly, while in the very loud passive mode we have more of the old-school midrange.
Manually the bass is a mix of MM and Precision - the string spacing is 18mm, the radius is flat, and the neck is neither thin nor thick. I have short fingers, but it feels very comfortable and fast. Low action. An additional advantage is great access to all 24 frets.
The guitar is in great condition. The hardware looks and works like new, the trussrod rotates perfectly, there is no noise or buzzing.
There are literally two micro-dents on the body (in the photos) and one scratch on the head, otherwise - all is perfect. Hardcase included.
Bass is located in Poznań, Poland, but shipment would be no problem.
