For sale is the Japanese bass Greco Bob-65. With its pointed headstock, dynamic alder body shape, thin neck (38mm at the nut) and just over 3.5kg in weight, this is an axe designed to go wild on stage. Made in Japan, late 1980s, 34-inch scale.
Although the bass was originally active, at some point it was converted to passive - the battery and the preamp (which was limited to a mid switch) were disconnected. I've had another stock Bob in the past and in my opinion it sounds better in this version, more responsive, a bit like a Fender Jazz Bass Aerodyne. Hardware? Gotoh tuners, recessed brass bridge with six screws - massive, stable and incredibly practical. You'll change strings in seconds.
Ergonomics? It's good. Low strings action, comfortable neck with excellent access to the 24 frets, good balance. Slender JB style neck profile.
The bass has had its years and you can see that it has been played. The lacquer bears a lot of signs of use: scratches, nicks, dents, minor chips. I took the photos in such a way that everything could be seen, in artificial light it is much less clear. The hardware, trussrod and frets are in very good condition, the bass has undergone maintenance of the electronics and fretboard, it has fresh strings. Intonation, tuning - all good.
The instrument can be played in Poznań, Poland (!), European shipping is possible.
Private sale, no warranty, return etc.
