Hello from France,
I offer this wonderful Fodera for trade. It's an exceptionnal bass but truth is I play it at home only. I would prefer having something a bit more "traditionnal" that I would use more in band context.
The bass was completed in 2010 so before Fodera had any CNC and when Vinny Fodera was still involved in the luthery. I have had 4 Foderas and this one is the best in terms of sound.
Only a few basses have been made with Brazilian Tulipwood, it was a $3000 option. Such a bass would cost close to $14k to make nowadays.
This Emperor is loaded with options :
- Elite construction (neck through)
- Brazilian Tulip wood top
- Ash body
- Flamed maple tone block
- Ebony pickup covers (not the plastic ones !)
Neck :
- Brazilian Tulip wood fingerboard
- 5-pc Ash neck with Purpleheart stringers
- Ebony dot inlays
- 19mm bridge spacing / 24 frets
Electronics :
- Seymour Duncan dual coil pickups (+single coil switch)
- Fodera / Pope 3 band custom preamp
- Emperor control layout
The custom preamp is customizable with jumpers in the cavity, you can chose if the pickups are in serial or parallel when in dual coils, the frequencies of the 3 bands, the value of the passive tone pot... I have the document which explains in details the possibilities.
The bass can be shipped in the original black Fodera tear drop hard case, with tools.
Basses of interest would be 4 and 5 strings. 2 basses against one or 1 bass + € also possible. Moollon, Olinto, Alleva Coppolo, F bass, Wal, Serek, Lull, vintage Fender and Musicman etc... luthier basses if not too exotic.
Also interested in Mesa Subway heads (WD-800 / TT-800 / D800+) and eventually a Bergantino cab.
