Like new, just played a few gigs. Note that the bass has been setup by my luthier:
Some lacquer around the neckplate flaked off, which is normal due to the nitro topcoat finish and happening as well on vintage instrument. And there is a minor crack on the pickguard near the screw (see pics), which is also common on 1 ply pickguards used back in the 50’s.
Selling the bass as I upgraded to a 55 Fender Custom Shop P Bass.
- Fiber saddles slightly sanded on the edges in order to achieve lower action (see pics)
- Wiring has been changed to 55 specs (some 54 were also wired like that) as out of the box it had a significant volume drop when dialing back the tone knob, which was very annoying (some 54 basses were wired like that, others like 55 and onwards). There is a video on YouTube describing that design feature / flaw which I can share.
