I'm selling this absolutely stunning semi-hollow Epiphone Zenith fretted bass from 2009.
Widely considered to be the most impressive of XXI-century Epiphones, these are extremely rare and sought after as they were manufactured only for a very short time - being expensive due to the high-end technology and materials used, they didn't really fit into the company's strategy.
Apart from an elegantly-shaped, acoustically chambered mahogany body with a dark flamed maple top, Zenith stands out for its unique custom-made NanoFlex/NanoMag (piezo and magnetic) pickup combination which can be used in mono or stereo modes and provides countless bass tones. It doesn't take much effort to get an upright sound - or as close to an upright sound as possible for a fretted bass. It also gets vibes of an electroacoustic with tone up, especially if you change the strings to metal ones.
The D-shaped, satin neck is rather slim and very comfortable with good access to the highest notes. It must be noted though that Zenith is a big boy - it weighs in c. 5kg (over 10lbs) and is simply quite massive. It's actually the main reason I'm selling it - I love how it's made (incredibly well - just look at the bridge or the binding!) and sounds but I'm a small guy and play only in my bedroom.
The bass has not been played a lot and is in great condition - there are no dings, just some minimal superficial scratches and one lacquer crack between two neck screws (you can see on the photo it’s shallow and doesn’t go into the wood). The frets have no wear as it’s been always used with soft thick flats. Neck is perfectly straight.
Bass is located in Poznan (Poland), international shipment is no problem.
Private sale, so no warranty, return etc
