Cort Elrick JP-5 from 2003
Perhaps a long shot but I consider it worth trying:
Created in a collaboration between the renowned luthier Elrick and Cort as a signature model for Josh Paul (formerly in Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, Daughtry). Basically -relatively- similar to the Elrick E-volution. Later renamed RB-5. This bass was manufactured in 2003.
Condition
I'm its second owner and owned it for three years now. Except for a small dent in the finish between the pickups and a slight discoloration in the neckheel in excellent condition. Maybe the potentiometers could use a little cleaning but there's nothing happening there that bothered me.
In short, a bass in very good condition for its age, with which you will not get much closer to an Elrick in its price range. Moreover, it is an increasingly rare eye-catcher that plays wonderfully when the string spacing suits you!
Because this bass, in terms of sound and output, no longer fits my current playing style, it can go to raise funds for another bass. I can't complain about playability and adjustability.
Trussrod, tuners and bridge run smoothly and do their job properly. At the moment stringed with a set of DR black beauties, 45-125, and tuned in C. Lower tunings are certainly possible due to the 35" scale; I've had it tuned down to A standard and the lowest string remained playable and defined.
Specifications:
Besides selling I'm willing to trade it for a G&L tribute L2500 or -maybe- something similar.
The bass is located in Assen, NL, about 45mins from Twist and can be tested on a Trace Elliott set. Of course there's coffee to be had. Shipping is a possibility but I'll need somthing to ship it in since I'm not selling it with a case.
Anyway, hope you liked this read that got a bit lengthier than I anticipated and am curious if this will result in something construtive.
Greets!
